Office Hours!

by vernsanders on September 9, 2011

Last Tuesday I indicated that I was going to try to set up office hours.

Today I want to tell you that the office hours experiment will begin as a beta trial next Tuesday from 1-3pm Pacific time.

Here’s how it works:

Every Tuesday (at least until the end of the month), from 1-3 pm Pacific time, I will be in my “virtual” office, which you can find at

To “visit” me in my office, just click on this link: and type a question into the handy dandy box provided. I will answer the questions as best I can, or point you in a direction I think will take you to an answer. Within reason, every question will be answered, although formspring has encouraged me to just delete inappropriate or objectionable questions.

What I’m not sure about, but I think is true, is that if you can’t “be there” during those hours, you can still leave your question in the box at the site, and I will answer it during my office hours. I also think that it means that you can click on the the link at any time and find out what people are interested in, and what, if anything, important I have to say about it.

What is important to know: I will only be “in” my virtual office during those times, so if you ask a question outside of those hours, I won’t answer it until my next office hour. At least that’s the way I think it will work. That’s what beta is for…to figure out if this stuff is worth doing/having.

So think about what you’d like to know if I know, and meet me at my “office” next Tuesday from 1-3pm Pacific at:
