Music Industry Changes

by vernsanders on October 28, 2011

Big news this week:

ECS, the parent company of EC Schirmer Music Publishers, has announced that, beginning in January, their music will be distributed by Canticle Distributing, which is a subsidiary of MorningStar Music. This is a huge change for an old-time Eastern publisher, which was driven partly by the popularity of the Boston Red Sox. ECS was located in the Fenway Park district, which has completely changed over the past decade or so. ECS keeps their editorial staff intact and is moving their corporate offices to Framingham, a suburb of Boston.

I wonder who’s next?

Any guesses? Leave a comment and let me know what you think.
