It’s a 5 o’clock (24/7) World

The internet is a mixed blessing, as I’m sure you know if you are reading this. For the church, or business, or artist, or company, with a website, though, it makes life a 24/7 proposition. Your website works for you even when you are sleeping…it hasn’t quite gotten to the place where it knows if you’ve been bad or good, but I’m sure somebody, somewhere is working on it…

A high percentage of small to medium sized churches seem to think “hardly anybody will see our site” and/or so “it is a low priority” but, in my experience, that would be a mistake. In the 24/7 webworld, people make snap judgements (ah…peripheral reference to one of my favorite authors–Malcolm Gladwell–and his book Blink), and I mean literally. If your page loads slowly, or looks “hokey” or amateurish, or [fill in the blank here] you’ve lost that (potentially) once in a lifetime chance to establish a relationship with someone who is/was searching, perhaps for help. Think about it…

And so… our list for today…

27 Ways to Succeed as a Leader in a 24/7 World by Kevin Eikenberry in my friend Dr. Stephanie Parson‘s new ezine The New Face of Leadership. It’s a pdf, and you’ll have to scroll to it, but it is a worthwhile read.
