In a recent twitter exchange I remarked to my new friend that trust is the new icurrency. I don’t know about you, but if I can’t/don’t trust someone on the internet, I have no compelling reason to take what they say seriously, or to engage with them. Same thing holds true in an interpersonal, non-digital exchange, but it often takes longer to figure out whether I can trust that person. When it is a digital presence, my tolerance level, and the rope I’m prepared to play out, is very short.
What do you think? Is that true for you?
