Tweet Up fun!

by vernsanders on April 6, 2010

So last night I was a part of my first tweet up. I didn’t know what to expect, and I’m not sure anybody else did either. Six of us bravely boarded the shuttle from the Hilton Universal City to the Universal City Walk to go to one of my new favorite restaurants… Buca di Beppo.

Here’s what was great about the tweet up: we all got to know each other better, around a convivial selection of food. Everybody at the table had an interesting story…how many gatherings have you been to that brought together the CEO of the largest pop-culture media group & marketing service reaching the faith-based and family audience, two church pianists from different parts of the country, a person that toured with Disney on Parade for many years, the daughter of the founder of Covenant Players, two music ministers, the head of a music publishing company, and li’l ole me…? And it was all made possible by a little thing we call Monday Morning Email.

Here’s what was not so good about the tweet up: We didn’t have enough time. I felt like we could have spent another couple of hours.

oh…and the 40 minute wait for a shuttle bus to go back to the hotel on an every 10 minute schedule…

I’ll wait while you read that sentence again…

I’m looking forward to doing this more often. Thanks to everyone who attended. I hope to post a picture soon.
