This information from the Pew Research Center people seems to indicate that we protestants are just stealing from each other’s churches…and, in many cases, more than once…

It has been my experiential sense that many church musicians tend to migrate across the “worship/musical stylistic” continuum as they mature. I, for one, grew up in a liturgical environment as an Augustana Lutheran, but now find myself much more comfortable in “free Presbyterian” worship, and it is my experience, in talking with colleagues, that my experience (still following? I know that is probably bad grammatically) is not unique. I know and/or have talked with many people who have moved in the opposite direction as well, from very free church to highly liturgical.
