Would you see a money tree?

by vernsanders on September 9, 2010

Interesting experiment…

A lady created a money tree to see if people were greedy.

The response was not what you would expect…

I think a lot of people saw it and walked by because we’ve become accustomed to the fact that “there is no such thing as a free lunch.” We don’t even want to get involved with free money because there might be a “catch.”

I agree with you Vern, but I also think that many people seem to just be so focused on what they are doing; what they think is important to them, that they just don’t stop and take in what is there to see. Sort of like not “stopping to smell the roses.” What a shame. You can miss out on so much of life and very special moments.

I agree…I’ve noticed that a lot of the people in the video were “distracted”…by a phone or pda, a child, a conversation, etc. Some people (especially in a big city) walk with their heads down. The video also shows people looking at the money tree, and you can almost hear their inner dialogue: “cool…too good to be true…yeah, but what if…no, not taking that chance…candid camera…”
