Site Update

by vernsanders on March 30, 2010

Following the lead of Chris Guillebeau, I’m going to try to do a month-end wrap up on the post that comes the closest to the end of the month. Since tomorrow’s post is another one of the 101 Great Choir Ideas, today’s the day.

Writing

It’s been an eventful month…the Wednesday tips seem to be striking a chord, and my series on The Church Musician at Work generated some buzz as well. But the two big things were adding the “Last Week’s Tweets” post on Mondays, and the Understanding the Millenial Mind post in which we pointed to a free EBook (still available, btw).

I’m also fairly well along on my next EBook, which delves into the subject of using social media to develop community for and in ministries. I’ll let you know when it will be available, which, if all goes well, may be as early as later next week.

MeetUps

In other big news, I’ve scheduled my first tweetup, which will take place next Monday, April 5, at Buca di Beppo in Universal City. I’ll be there because I’m speaking at MusiCalifornia. This is all new to me, and I’m just happy that we’ll have at least 5 people at the meetup. If you’re anywhere near at hand and want to be a part of this, just go here for details and and to RSVP. I’m going to be bringing along some prizes, so that everyone who attends (or at least the first 25-30 or so) will get a prize.

Websites

We’re working diligently to update and upgrade our two websites. The Creator magazine site is due for a big update, which will take place over the next few months. The Creator Leadership Network site is also expanding. We’re almost done with the process of adding an article database, and we will be adding new material on a regular basis. Look for an announcement very soon about a new channel to increase our 24/7 streaming audio offerings currently found on Creator Reverence.

What’s Ahead

In April, in addition to speaking at MusiCalifornia, I’ll also be doing sessions at the National Church Music Conference in Indianapolis. One of the sessions is entitled: The Traditional Choir Director Meets the Worship Band for the First Time, which I’m looking forward to exploring. Then it is home for a bit before an extended trip to Canada, highlighted by speaking at the Association of Canadian Choral Communities Podium 2010 conference.

Thanks

Without somebody reading this, it would just be words in the ether. Thanks for following along. I’m glad you’re here. I hope you feel the same about me.
