101 Great Choir Ideas

by vernsanders on February 24, 2010

Every Wednesday is tip day. Each week’s tip may be about a different topic, but one of the recurring topics will be 101 Great Choir Ideas. Here’s this week’s tip.

  • Try to avoid conversation about non-essential things with your choir director or accompanist just before worship or a concert. Help promote an attitude of worship and preparation by everyone involved in worship leadership.

I am grateful for this article. I can’t count the number of times, choir members and mostly members of the congregation would come up to me as I am making my way back to rehearse with the choir before worship begins, saying things like, ” We have a light out in our Sunday School room.” I’m like, “okay…. can you tell me that after worship is over.” When I am trying to focus on worship and preparing my heart to be the lead worshipper, the last thing I want to hear is trivial comments. I would recommend this go in choir notes and in the church newsletter. Thanks for these great articles!
